The breeder consists of rows (generations of breeding offspring) and columns (the number of offspring in a generation). You can change the number of breeder rows and columns in the Breeding and Time Series Options window.

To change the number of plants made per breeding event,

Choose More Options from the breeder Options menu. The Breeding and Time Series Options window will appear.

Find the box labeled Breeder plants to create per generation and click the up or down arrows to change the number. This will change the number of breeder plants in new generations only. If you reduce the number of columns, no existing plants will be deleted, but you won't be able to see plants above the new column size unless you increase the number of columns again.

To change the number of breeder generations allowed,

Choose More Options from the breeder Options menu. The Breeding and Time Series Options window will appear.

Find the box labeled Maximum breeder generations and click the up or down arrows to change the number. If you fill up the breeder to the number of rows specified, you won't be able to breed any new plants until you clear out some existing generations. Be careful here because you can use a lot of memory up if you set this to a high number (each plant taking 5-100 kilobytes means a 5x100 plant breeder could use up five megabytes of memory).
