Exporting to LWO
PlantStudio can export 3D plant models to the IFF ("Interchange File Format") specification for Form-type LWOB (Lightwave Object) files (from the specification dated October 16, 1996). LWO is a binary format that is small and clean and is read by many popular renderers.
Tips on saving and using LWO files from PlantStudio
▪ The LWO file format specifies an absolute limit of 65,536 points or polygons per file. If you try to export too many points or polygons, PlantStudio will stop you and request that you choose fewer plants. You can also reduce point/polygon count by reducing the number of cylinder sides to draw stems (change the number labeled Draw stems as cylinders with X sides).
▪ Otherwise there are no special options for the Lightwave format; look at the general 3D export helpExporting_3D_models_in_general>main for explanations of all the options you see when exporting to LWO. If you have problems importing PlantStudio-exported LWO files, see the common section on troubleshooting export problemsWhat_to_do_if_you_cannot_read_PlantStudio_3D_models>second.
