FAQ: Registration
I’ve lost my registration code!
▪ Don’t worry! Just send us a note at plantstudio@kurtz-fernhout.com. We’re glad to re-send it anytime. Make sure you give us your full name and the email address you used when you registered PlantStudio.
I never got my registration code!
▪ If you registered PlantStudio and have not received your registration email from us, please send us a note with the order information you received when you paid the registration fee. The number one reason people don’t get their registrations is that we send them to the address given and they bounce back. On rare occasions we suffer network or connection problems or take a very short vacation and delay sending registration emails by a day or two. Give us two business days, then give us two more, then write.
I registered two copies by mistake!
▪ Usually when we get two registrations from the same person one right after the other, we assume they meant to register only once, and we refund the second registration. (This has only happened a few times.) However, to be sure, send us a note explaining what happened, and we’ll fix it.
I registered PlantStudio, but it still says “unregistered.”
▪ Once you’ve paid the registration fee, you still have to tell your copy of the program that you’ve registered it.
▪ Once you’ve received your registration email from us, open PlantStudio and choose Register from the Help menu. Type your registration name and code from the email into the boxes there, exactly as they are in the email (copy and paste works best), then click Register Me. Your copy of PlantStudio will know that it is registered from then on.
I moved PlantStudio to another machine and now it thinks it’s unregistered!
▪ PlantStudio stores your registration information (encrypted) in your settings file. You need to copy that file along with the PlantStudio directory for it to pick up on your registration correctly.
▪ Find the file PlantStudio2.ini (also PlantStudio.ini if it is there) in your Windows directory and copy it to the Windows directory on your new machine. PlantStudio should pick up your registration information from it.
▪ If that doesn’t work, re-enter the registration information from the email you saved or printed.
▪ If you can’t find the email with your registration information, send us a note and we’ll send you another copy of it.
