Using the undo/redo list
You can undo or redo multiple actions at a time, using the common undo list shared by the main window, breeder and time series window. (This will not apply to actions done in the plant and 3D object movers and the 3D object editor.)
To use the undo/redo list,
▪ Choose Undo/Redo List from the Edit menu. You will see the actions you can undo (going backward) and the actions you can redo (going forward).
▪ Select any number of actions from one list or the other (not both). You can’t undo an action without undoing everything above it in the undo list as well. You can’t redo an action without redoing everying above it in the redo list as well.
▪ Click OK. PlantStudio will “roll back” or “roll forward” the actions you chose.
▪ Don’t do anything until PlantStudio seems to come to a resting state. You can actually clear out the undo/redo list by clicking on things before PlantStudio is finished with the multiple undo/redo.
Tips on using the undo/redo list
▪ The screen might look pretty strange while PlantStudio is undoing or redoing several actions, and it might take some time. Just wait and see what happens. Doing this is exactly the same as if you chose Undo or Redo from the Edit menu over and over again. If you undo or redo a large number of actions, be prepared to wait a little while for a result.
▪ If you undo several actions, then DO something, like drag a plant, you will clear out the portion of the undo/redo list you just undid. This is hard to explain; just try it with some simple dragging and rotating and you’ll see what we mean. In general if you are undoing numbers of actions and think you might want to get back to where you were, don’t touch anything in between.
▪ If you see actions seeming to disappear from your undo/redo list when you just did them, check your undo limitsChanging_the_undo_limits to see if they should be higher. For example, if you have the maximum number of plants in your undo list set at 10, and you breed three times with five plants in each generation, your undo/redo list will lose some items.
▪ PlantStudio saves the position and size of the undo/redo list window in your settings file, so you can give it a nice useful size and it will stay that way.
