Adding triangles to a 3D object
A 3D object is made up of triangles, and triangles are made up of three points. So when you make a triangle on a 3D object you make — or attach to — three points. Normally you will be attaching to some points already on the 3D object and creating some new points.
This is the hardest part of making 3D objects, so take a little time to learn how to do it.
To add a triangle to a 3D object in the 3D object editor,
▪ If this is your first time adding a triangle, make sure the points are big enough to move easily. To change the point size, click the arrow button to open the options panel, then change the number labeled Point size.
▪ Click Add triangles mode .

Move the cursor over the Edit panel and click on an existing point or anywhere. Existing points turn red when you move over them. |
Move the mouse. A green line will connect you to the point you already clicked on. Click to make a second point. |
Now move on to the third point in the same way. |

Tips on adding triangles:
▪ If the triangle you made didn’t connect the way you wanted and you are still in the middle of making it, finish the triangle anyway, then click the Undo button to remove it.
▪ If you only find out later that a point you thought was connected really wasn’t, delete the triangleDeleting_triangles_from_a_3D_object>second and make another one with the proper connections. A quick way to find out if all the points on a new triangle are connected is to quickly dragDragging_points_in_a_3D_object>second each one of them around to see if a point is orphaned.
