Tips on editing plant notes

To copy text from a note to the clipboard, select the text in the note that you want to copy, then type Ctrl-C or choose Copy Text from the popup menu that appears when you right-click on the note. Do not choose the Copy command in the Edit menu it will copy the selected plant(s) instead.

The Undo command on the popup menu that appears over a note in the note editor is different from other Undo commands in PlantStudio. It only saves one change, and when you choose it again, you will redo the change you undid. When you choose Undo outside of the note editor (after you click OK), your entire session with the note editor will be undone.

You can copy and paste text to and from the clipboard in the note editor using the popup menu.

If you want to type without adding returns and have the note editor put returns in for you, check the wrap lines checkbox in the note editor. Any lines wrapped in the note editor will stay wrapped forever. If you want to wrap the lines yourself, uncheck this option.

When you are finished editing your note, you can type Tab to move to the OK button, then type Enter to save your change. This means that you cannot type a tab character in the note editor by pressing the Tab key. If you want to place a tab character inside your note, type Ctrl-Tab instead.

You can edit notes in plant files; see Editing plant files outside the programEditing_plant_files_outside_the_program for details.
