FAQ: 3D Objects
Is there any way to increase the polygon resolution of the plants before exporting?
▪ Not automatically. You can increase the number of sidesChoosing_cylinder_sides_in_3D_export on the cylinders used to write stems to 3D formats, and you can create or import 3D objectsEditing_3D_objects with more polygons, but there’s no “make more polygons” option. We’ve found that using smoothing after you import the plant models into your 3D program helps to make the plants look better.
Can I split a polygon in a leaf I am editing?
▪ Not in one step. The best way to do this is to delete the polygon, then make two polygons using the three existing points and one new one.
How do I control the z coordinates of points on a leaf?
▪ In the 3D object editor, choose Drag mode and click and drag a point with the right mouse button. That moves the point in Z space (toward you or away from you). It helps to set up one of the rotate-able views so that the plane of the leaf is to the side so that you can see the result of the drag.
